The Faculty of Humanities invites outstanding candidates to apply for tenure-track positions in Biblical Archaeology

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem invites applications for a tenure-track position (open rank) in the Department of Archaeology and Ancient Near Eastern Studies, with a specialization in the Archaeology of the Southern Levant in the Bronze and Iron Ages. The position is open to all candidates who have attained a Ph.D. degree and to advanced doctoral students who expect to be granted their Ph.D. no later than June 30, 2025.

We happy to announce that the AUTOMATA project won the funding of the Horizon Europe Framework Programme!

As part of a consortium of multiple laboratories working on this project, The Computational Archaeology Laboratory headed by Prof. Leore Grosman and managed by Dr. Heeli Schechter, has been involved in conceptualizing, designing and kicking-off this project.

AUTOMATA project aims to establish an automated, quick, accurate, and low-cost procedure to allow massive digitation campaigns of archaeological artifacts.

The project includes the design and production of an AI-augmented robotic system, equipped with sensors providing 3D models and archaemetric data of the archaeological finds.
