As part of a consortium of multiple laboratories working on this project, The Computational Archaeology Laboratory headed by Prof. Leore Grosman and managed by Dr. Heeli Schechter, has been involved in conceptualizing, designing and kicking-off this project.
AUTOMATA project aims to establish an automated, quick, accurate, and low-cost procedure to allow massive digitation campaigns of archaeological artifacts.
The project includes the design and production of an AI-augmented robotic system, equipped with sensors providing 3D models and archaemetric data of the archaeological finds.
