Dr. Davin is a postdoctoral researcher at Prof. Leore Grosman's COMPARC Laboratory. His research delves into the social and cultural diversity accompanying the transition from the Paleolithic to the Neolithic era in the southern Levant. Dr. Davin's focus lies in deciphering the shift from nomadic to settled lifestyles, as well as the evolution from hunting and gathering to production systems.
Dr. Davin positions his research in the examination of Late Epipaleolithic (Natufian: 15,000-11,650 years BP) body decorations, including bone, tooth, shell, stone, and clay beads, along with feathers, bird talons, skins, furs, mineral and organic dyes, exploring the techno-symbolic traditions associated with them such as sound instruments, figurines, and decorations.
