The Faculty of Humanities invites outstanding candidates to apply for tenure-track positions in Biblical Archaeology

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem invites applications for a tenure-track position (open rank) in the Department of Archaeology and Ancient Near Eastern Studies, with a specialization in the Archaeology of the Southern Levant in the Bronze and Iron Ages. The position is open to all candidates who have attained a Ph.D. degree and to advanced doctoral students who expect to be granted their Ph.D. no later than June 30, 2025.

Hyrcania Fortress Excavation Project | Dr. Oren Gutfeld and Michal Haber

In archaeological excavations conducted for the first time by Dr. Oren Gutfeld and Michal Haber in the ruins of Hyrcania, an isolated archaeological site in the northern Judean Desert, the remains of fortifications from the Second Temple period and a rare inscription from the Byzantine period were uncovered.
