Computerized Archaeology - Research

  • We continue to develop new ideas to meet archaeological demands. In particular, we have started to develop methods for the inclusion of texture information (drawings, decorations, relief) in the documentation and analysis of pottery.

  • We continue the effort to construct user friendly computer codes which will aid practicing archaeologists in their study of the 3D models.

  • We continue to extract measures and parameters which were hitherto inaccessible to the archaeological research such as e.g., the center of mass coordinates of a lithic tool or its inertia tensor, which might be of help in understanding the usage of these instruments in prehistory.
